Memorial Day Weekend

A few more pictures from Memorial Day Weekend:

Happy 3rd Birthday Cory!

Cory turned 3, and we celebrated Memorial Day Weekend up Hobble Creek Canyon.  The weather wasn't the best, but it didn't keep us from having fun. Some of the extended Bird family camped the entire weekend up the canyon and the rest of us popped in and out.

Cory's 1st Fish

We went fishing in Salem with our friend Brandon and his kids. It was Cory's first time fishing. Brandon let Cory reel a fish in and it was hilarious watching Cory try to grab it. The fish kept slipping out of his hands and eventually jumped back in the water. Cory was so happy and excited!

3 Year Old Well Child Check

Cory went to his 3 year old well child check last week. He was excited to go, but the first thing he told the nurse was, "no pokes" (meaning no shots). Luckily for him (and me) he didn't need any this time.
He weighs 31 lbs and is 37 1/2 inches tall. Cory went and hugged Dr. Anderson's leg and asked him, "Am I your friend Dr. Anderson?" It was so cute. Dr. Anderson told him, "Yes, you are my friend Cory!" I love my confident and out-going boy.

My name is Ariel....

So Cory goes through stages of pretending he's someone else. First it was Jack Sparrow, then it was Jessie from Toy Story. He eventually moved on to Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas and has most recently been going by "Ariel". This child gets obsessed about living in his character. Well, he had a special Ariel toy that we lost at the park the other day and he was devastated. My friend Stefanie came to the rescue and offered one of her little girl's Ariel toys to me. He was one happy little boy when I brought it home.
