Kevin drew a Colorado deer tag this year, and went for a week long hunt with his friend Brandon and Brandon's son Luke. It was a very physical hunt, with a lot of hiking, but they were able to find a cheep hotel to stay in at night. The weather was really cold, so Kevin was glad they took the hotel route.
They saw 2 bucks the first day they were there (Monday), and were hopeful of finding some nice mature deer. On Thursday, Kevin hiked to a spot to glass, and spotted what he thought could be a nice deer. It was bedded down, so he was a little nervous to take the shot. He did and hit it from about 260 yards out. It is a cool 30.5 inch character buck with a couple cheaters.
Brandon was able to get his deer on Friday evening and they decided to make a late night of it and drive home in order to have all day Saturday with their families. Here are some pictures:
